“Capital City March” is a concert march written to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of The Capital City Band of Tallahassee State College and to also commemorate Tallahassee’s bicentennial as the capital of Florida, both of which occurred in 2024. It serves as a tribute to the remarkable musicians of the ensemble and their director, Lisa Foltz. The Capital City Band, a dynamic group and Tallahassee's first community band, was founded in 1924 and later revitalized at TCC in 1970, brings together students and community members from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the rich musical and educational tapestry of the city of Tallahassee.
